Everything You Need to Know About Romance&Suspense Author Spiffie Tiffie's Debut Novel "Tapotement"

Last week, I had the privilege of sitting down with Spiffie Tiffie to talk about her upcoming projects, life as an indie author, and of course, all about her debut romance and suspense novel Tapotement. To watch our full author interview, check out the video below!

In our interview, Tiffie explained that ever since she could remember, she's always had a huge imagination. When I asked her what sparked her love for writing, she said, "I've always been a daydreamer. I remember in school I would always get in trouble for daydreaming: like I wasn't paying attention. I just always had these thoughts in my brain, but I never really put them on paper until I started writing Tapotement."

Tiffie's also always loved reading romance and was even inspired to write her own. Some of her favorite books that have inspired her include J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood series and Karen Marie Moning's Fever series.

When I asked Tiffie what came to her first, the plot or the characters in Tapotement, she said, "Honestly, it was neither. I had no idea where the story was going to go. I've always wanted to write a book, and so I've always heard that you should write what you know.

"Being a massage therapist," Spiffie Tiffie continued, "I integrated that right off the bat in my book, because Jay (FMC) is actually performing a massage--that's how the first chapter is opened up. That's what I do, so I just started writing that."

She said that once she started writing, it all just kept coming to her, the story unfolding little by little before her eyes. Since she was working in addition to writing her book, she talked about how challenging it was to get in time to write. Month after month, she would spend her nights writing and her days mulling over the plot, waiting for spare moments between massage sessions to jot down her story ideas.

Despite the challenges of imposter syndrome and self-doubt along the way, Tiffie was committed to making her dreams of being an author a reality. After two years, she finished writing Tapotement and self-published it in the summer of 2022.
