Interview with Debut Author Michaela Hayes Discussing the Release of Her Upcoming Novel, Nightshade


This week, I sat down with debut author Michaela Hayes to discuss the release of her upcoming novel, Nightshade. In our interview, we spoke about the inspiration behind her book, the writing process, and her publishing plans.


In our interview, Michaela explained that she started writing at fifteen but didn't become serious about her passion until she was twenty-one. Now, she is diligently working on her upcoming debut novel. When she isn't writing, Michaela loves playing adventure games, which probably contributed to the action and adventure found in her debut novel.


When I asked Michaela what her favorite part of the writing process has been, here's what she said: "My favorite part is the car chases. I really love those, and action with the guns and that kind of stuff. I do like to delve into romance too. It's fun. The whole process was really fun."


Additionally, Michaela was inspired by one of her favorite children's series, Nancy Drew. Inspired by mysteries and secrets, these themes weave through the plot of Nightshade. When Michaela was getting into writing, back in her Wattpad days, she loved Mafia storylines and adventures, so it's no surprise that Nightshade focuses on a woman suffering from trauma after being taken from the Mafia. After her best friend was also taken, she goes on an epic journey to find her. If you love Mafia, mystery, suspense, action, and adventure, then you'll love Michaela's debut novel!

Now, she's revising her books and getting ready to start querying her story for publishers in April!
